FAQ’S & EXPECTATIONS

How much does a coaching cost and how long is the session?

Coachings are $205 for 30 minutes.

Can I book a coaching with Natalie more than once?

Natalie can only commit to one-offs at this time.  Recurring sessions are never guaranteed.

What should I bring to my in-person coaching?

Students should bring a minimum of two song options. (Singers who have an established repertoire book are encouraged to bring it.) Sheet music is preferable, but chord charts are also acceptable. Regardless of format, each piece should be in the correct key--there will be no “on the spot” transposing in the lesson. (If you’re not sure, bring the same piece in several keys--musicnotes.com is a great resource)

Should I come warmed up?

Yes, students should arrive warmed up and ready to use their voice.

Where are the coachings located?

Coachings are located at a studio near Times Square (address to be sent upon booking).

May I audio record my session?

Yes! To get the most out of the coaching session, students are strongly encouraged to record the entire session using the voice memos app.

May I film my session?

Maybe! It is preferred that students record onto their voice memos app, but in certain circumstances, video recording is permitted. This is contingent upon Natalie’s discretion.  Please confirm with Natalie before video recording any part of your session.

How do online coachings work?

Natalie coaches through Zoom (basically a more hip version of Skype).  If an applicant is invited to book, they are sent a link to join a meeting room at their scheduled time.

No need to download any app or software, as Zoom can be used via web browser.

What timezone is my Zoom coaching slot in?

All time slots are based on Natalie's location, which is Eastern Standard Time (EST) / New York City.

I can't get to New York City.  Are Zoom coachings as good as in person?

In-person coachings are always preferred. However, this may not be a viable option for everyone. In this case, Zoom is absolutely effective and efficient.

Can I sing material in another language?

Natalie isn’t fluent in any other language and wants to focus on your technique. Please prepare your material in English.

What do I need to prepare for my Zoom coaching?

Singers are encouraged to have instrumental tracks ready for a minimum of 2 songs that they are working on. These tracks should be played on a separate device from the device on which Zoom is being run. An on-site accompanist is also acceptable.

Singing a cappella certainly can also work, but it just isn't always as efficient.
Students should join the Zoom meeting already warmed up and ready to sing.

Other important info:

--A coaching with Natalie is just that--a coaching. She cannot guarantee any outcomes, including, but not limited to, clients landing that role, being accepted to that program, owning that audition, belting that C, or becoming the next riffing star.

--Natalie does not film all of her sessions.  However, if she feels inspired in the moment, she will always ask for consent first.

--Natalie’s areas of emphasis include polishing and refining competent singers, providing dramatic and style coaching, and audition prep. Natalie does not teach fundamentals of singing, and she will not hesitate to refer out if she feels a singer could be better served by another teacher.

--Natalie is not looking for perfection. She creates a space where vulnerability, mistakes, goofiness, and creative risk-taking are welcomed and expected! If singers aren't able to make mistakes--and be at peace with making mistakes--they’ll never improve. Every crack, flip, blip, hiccup, and weird noise is part of the process!
